But gradually I understood the importance of self-acceptance. Through self-awareness, you can easily embrace your imperfections and flaws. When you can accept your imperfections and flaws, you will become more confident in your life. Let us go through some ways by which you can accept your faults. By the way my name is Komal.
Relate To Others through Your Faults
Humans are inseparable from flaws. Knowing this universal truth will make you bond with the flaws very well. When you are not organized, just like your friend, you will feel less alone. People will start liking you as soon as you admit your faults without any hesitation.
Implement Standards That Are Realistic
When you are setting standards for yourself, make sure they are realistic. We can become the worst critic for ourselves sometimes which may hold us from growing. Our self-awareness should create realistic standards for ourselves. You should stop the inner voice that keeps telling you that you are not good enough.
Never Compare with Others
Your self-esteem should let you compare only with your own standards and not with others. In this age of social media, not comparing with others’ lives can be very difficult. But you should remember only the positive parts are being shared and sometimes fake expressions are shown in front of the camera to hide the real feelings.
Role Models with Similar Imperfections
You will feel great when you find your role models possessing similar flaws. Maybe your parents are great at organizing events but they are forgetful. When you accept people with similar flaws, you will also start accepting yourself.
Identify Your Worth
You should identify your own worth with the help of self-care or self-love. Instead of depending on others for providing you the mental support, you should do it all by yourselves. You should identify your own abilities and talents through self-perception and never let others bring you down.
Accept Compliments
Understanding your inner beauty and accepting compliments can help you in boosting up your self-image. Complimenting usually comes from the heart when others find anything good and kind about you. It becomes easy for accepting compliments when you also start complimenting others.
Concentrate On Your Feelings and Not on Your Looks
Try accepting yourself with self-compassion on how you feel instead of focusing on how you look. You should be comfortable and confident with the clothes you are wearing. Smiling more will help you in avoiding unrealistic beauty standards.
Take Professional Help When You Need
You may feel down or depressed at times and it is perfectly natural to take help from professionals when you need it. They will help you with the tools for reframing your thoughts for becoming a confident and a happier person as a whole.
Though, my self-acceptance journey was not always smooth. It had ups, downs, and mood swings. But as I have accepted that am beautiful with my flaws, I am more at peace now!
