Hello, this is Sameera, and here is my self-love journey. With time, I have realized how important self-love is for your well-being and happiness. But how are you? Have you started loving yourself? Let me share my story so that you learn different ways of loving yourself!
Enjoy Me-time
I have always taken out time for myself even if I am super busy. As we have responsibilities of taking care of others, we mostly tend to forget in taking care of ourselves. You should never miss the opportunity of taking a peaceful walk from the hustle and bustle of the city, joining a dance or art class or whatever hobby you prefer, or simply self-pampering yourself by taking a skin-care routine. You will start feeling good when you prioritize yourself and focus on self-care.
Stay With Positive People
People who always motivate and encourage you are good for you. You will feel happy when you start spending most of your time with positive people instead of negative ones. Self-acceptance will naturally come to you when you remain in the midst of positive-minded people.
Stop When You Need
Race against time can often snatch away your happiness. Your inner peace can be restored when you sit with a cup of tea or coffee, talk with someone you love, and put away your phone. You can just stop everything for a while to see a bird fly or a beautiful sky during the sunset.
Celebrate Achievements, Even If They Are Not That Big
Your self-worth can be increased when you celebrate your small achievements. When you start appreciating your achievements regularly, it makes you feel confident. You should never forget that small achievements can sum up to the bigger ones in the future.
Lead a Healthy Life
Small changes in adopting a healthy life can provide you with inner strength both mentally and physically. When you exercise daily, you are keeping the diseases away from your life. It also helps in decreasing the cortisol which is the stress hormone. Ensure you enjoy the activities that help you stay consistent and motivated.
Learn Saying No
If you are working on your personal growth, you should say ‘No’ when needed. You always have the right to disagree either in your professional life or your personal life. You may not have time for everyone and you should prioritize your time accordingly.
You Are Different From Others
The way of seeking happiness is dissimilar for everyone. You will understand that you are different from others by the methods of seeking happiness. For example, I love spending time with my family on the holidays, just a tea, or a good movie can excite me a lot. For others, long drives in luxurious cars or world tours can be more exciting. My self-esteem has increased a lot when I have learned to love myself.
When my self-empowerment and self-discovery have been satisfied, I feel more confident. I have learned to be happy by loving myself more. This was more or less my entire self-acceptance journey
